About the Service

Riverside Youth Band is a youth brass band, based in Port Glasgow. We are passionate about providing opportunities through music for young people in Inverclyde and the surrounding area. We are currently Scottish Youth Champions (Development Class), a title which we have retained for the last 3 years having previously held the title in the Novice class in 2015. Our current training band launched in 2017 to enable newer learners to come and play their instrument in a group environment. All young brass & percussion players are welcome to come along regardless of experience.

Details of Costs

Our members pay a small fee of £10 per month which covers participation in all concerts and competitions, music, equipment, instrument loan (if required), uniform, transport, trips etc. However we firmly believe that finance should never be a barrier to opportunity and are more than happy to discuss alternative arrangements on a one-to-one basis.

Eligibility Criteria

The venue is wheelchair accessible. We have an open recruitment policy - no auditions, no minimum age or ability just lots of enthusiasm! We are more than happy to welcome members with additional support needs but please be aware that our rehearsals can be fast paced and noisy. We have a great team of supporting volunteers who have all been disclosed as part of the PVG scheme.
