Below is information about some of the services available in Inverclyde over the Christmas Holidays.
Branchton Community Centre
Branchton Community Centre will be open between Wednesday 27 December and Friday 29 December for two hours between 11am - 1pm for food support.
The Centre may also be open at other dates over the holidays for food support depending on donations. Please follow their Facebook page for information.
Advice First
Inverclyde HSCP’s Advice First service will close on Friday 22 December for the Holidays.
However, Advice First will operate a reduced service between Wednesday 27 and Friday 29 December to support emergencies only. If you are in an emergency situation and need urgent support, please call 01475 715299 or visit Hector McNeil House, Clyde Square, Greenock during this time.
Regular service will resume on Wednesday 3 January.
SAMH Gateways
SAMH Gateways will be open as normal over the Christmas period but closed on public holidays: Christmas day, boxing day, 1st and 2nd of Jan.
Inverclyde Recovery Community
Inverclyde Recovery Community will be open between 10am - 3pm on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, serving lunches from 12pm - 2pm. Head to Your Voice Inverclyde, Clyde Square
The service will be closed on Boxing Day and the 2nd of January.

Inverclyde Pantries run by Inverclyde Community Development Trust
The Pantry on 115 Grieve Road, Greenock, is open on Saturday 23 December, 8.30am to 12.30pm, then closed until Saturday 6 January 2024.
The Pantry on 7 ½ John Wood Street, Port Glasgow, is open Friday 22 December, 12pm to 2pm, then closed until Friday 12 January.
Inverclyde Women's Aid
Inverclyde Women’s Aid will be closed in public Holidays (25th, 26th Dec; 1st, 2nd Jan) but operating as normal on other days. The domestic abuse helpline will remain open throughout: 01475 888 505.
Ardgowan Hospice
The Ardgowan Hospice wellbeing team will be taking phone calls and emails for anyone who is struggling over the festive period. The team will offer a listening ear, emotional support and ideas to help you cope. The service will operate from 9am-5pm during the following dates:
- Boxing Day, Tuesday 26 Dec
- Wednesday 27 Dec
- Thursday 28 Dec
- Friday 29 Dec
- Tuesday 2 Jan
- Wednesday 3 Jan
- Thursday 4 Jan
- Friday 5 Jan

Inverclyde Carers Centre
The Centre will be closed from Friday 22 December until Wednesday 3 January. Telephone information support will be available from Wednesday 27 December to Friday 29 December, call 01475 735180.
If you require urgent support with your caring role, you can contact Social Work on 01475 7153365 and out of hours social work support on 0300 343 1505.
