With funding from Inverclyde Council, part of the Warm Hand of Friendship initiative is the creation of a map of warm spaces and activities.
We’ve been chatting to Alex Roe from Greenock Torpedo Club about their warm space.
“Our activity is a Souper Kitchen being held in Greenock Torpedo Factory and is open to the community running weekly from 11.30 to 3.00 until the end of March.
“The event is averaging at the moment 18 and growing per week. The facilities that are being offered are bingo with food prizes, snooker, cards, table bowls and dominoes - all free and in a warm environment.
“All staff are volunteers and very friendly. We provide soup, toasties, tea coffee biscuits and cake. Feedback is very encouraging and all ages have been coming along.”
