Warm Hand of Friendship - Inverkip Hub

Read about Inverkip Hub's warm space to support local people during the cost of living crisis

Inverkip Hub is part of the Warm Hand of Friendship warm spaces and activities map. With this funding from Inverclyde Council, the Hub is a space for people to come together in a space to save money on rising heating bills.

What is your warm space or activity?

We have offered a warm space for anyone in our Cafe area at Inverkip Hub with Internet access, tv and coffees teas and soup.

Who is benefitting?

Local people are benefiting sometimes outwith our specified hours. For example, on a Friday night when kids dancing is on, we have had more parents staying on out of the cold this number has risen from 4 to about 9/10 every week since electricity and gas costs have increased and colder months have came in.

In what way are people benefitting?

People are benefiting by keeping out the cold socialising and having access to tv internet and staff at the hub while accessing a warm space

What is your message to encourage people to take part in your warm space/activity?

The warm space is available for everyone no matter what the reasons for coming along are maybe just to meet other people in a warm space for a coffee, tea or cup a soup with WIFI, TV and computer access.
