About the Service
The Champions Boards are for care experienced Young People. Champions Boards provide a unique platform for young people to talk directly to local authority staff, elected members and service providers to articulate the challenges that being in care can bring and how these challenges can be faced and overcome with the right support. The Inverclyde Champions Board will provide a forum where care experienced young people can engage in participatory decision-making with their local authority. Young people form the core of the board and also set the agenda, so that discussions and decisions are meaningful to them.
They consist of three sections: Proud2care, Mini Champs and Champs. Across the three sections they cover a wide range of ages and activities - but also tie in together to ensure care experienced young people of every age get the same opportunities and rights.
