About the Service

Greenock Cricket Club is located in their own picturesque grounds in the West End of Greenock. The club operates 3 adult teams and 5 age group teams. The age groups are Under 10 years (Kwik Cricket Soft Ball), Under 12 (softball), under 12 (hardball), under 14 and under 16. The club are the only one in the locality offering competitive cricket to children and have a defined player pathway programme supported by Inverclyde Active Schools.

The club has a long history of success, having been Scottish Champions on numerous occasions and producing internationalists at both senior and age group levels. The training facilities are the envy of many with full net facilities, both grass and artificial surface. In addition there is a floodlit, astroturf Multi Use Games Area.

The clubhouse offers a bar, viewing lounge, changing facilities and pavilion which the club are willing to accommodate and assist with events for other organisations. Greenock Cricket Club is community based and encourages local schools and fellow sports clubs to share and enjoy the magnificent sports grounds. Currently the grounds are used by local athletic and swimming clubs for training.

Eligibility Criteria

GREENOCK CRICKET CLUB exists to encourage, foster and develop the sports of cricket and squash throughout the Inverclyde area and promotes and organises the participation in these sports by the youth of the area. It seeks to maintain the traditions of the Club that have been developed since its inception in 1862. It is a truly open Club and operates regardless of sex, age, religion, disability, ethnicity, nationality or sexual orientation. The Club's Equality Policy can be viewed on the club website.
