Heartland Circle

A service by St Marys Scottish Episcopal Church

Befriending Age Mental Health

About the Service

Covid-19 Update All church groups and activities are cancelled until further notice. Heartland Circle is a weekly group for older people living with or affected by dementia. Working with Alzheimer’s Scotland, we offer one-on-one support for our service users. The Circle is run by volunteers which include registered nurses and a social worker. The Circle encourages memory recall and stimulating cognitive function aiming to create a sense of well-being. Monthly events range from Chair Keep-Fit, tea dances, and puppet shows to choir concerts. Outings are arranged. Afternoon Tea with vintage china brings comfort and security and promotes memory recall of past times. Heartland Circle's impact shows in regularity of attendance and service users obvious enjoyment.
