About the Service
Based in Greenock, Inverclyde Faith in Throughcare is a registered Scottish throughcare charity that provides a link for people returning from prison to the community in Inverclyde. We walk with people, as they gradually build trust in others and the local community. We advocate on our clients behalf and help access vital resources needed for a successful reintegration, this removes barriers and helps to reduce reoffending. We work closely with local partners and relevant agencies while supporting participants. We provide a range of groups and diversionary alternatives such as volunteer programmes to support people on a journey to desistance. Our staff and volunteers are a non-anxious presence in our clients lives. We are good listeners, non-controlling, and non-judgmental. We support people to manage challenges in a positive way. We are committed to working together with participants, tailoring person-centred plans and meet the needs of the individual, and supporting change.
Our staff and volunteers support people to identify and shape opportunities to gradually build resilience and reach full potential. For the past 10 years, Faith in Throughcare have been active in Inverclyde, providing individual support and delivering recovery orientated group activities. All of the support is delivered through a trauma informed lens with a restorative justice approach. IFiT employ two full time staff members and actively recruit volunteers while also utilising the wide range of community resources and local partnering organisations. This collaborative approach continues to have a strong and positive impact on the people that we support and strengthens relationships with the wider community.
