About the Service

Walking is a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and well-being! Inverclyde Ramblers organise at least two walk every week ranging from easy strolls in the countryside to climbing Munros.

On Satudays there's usually one walk (if it's difficult there's usually an alternative easy walk). We also have a local walk of approx. 3-4 hours duration every Wednesday, starting at Lunderston Bay car park at 10:30am. We publish a rolling three month programme; Spring, Summer and Autumn with the Winter programme made up of individual 'pop-up walks' published directly to our website when available.

Walks are updated regularly and are accessible on our website. Please note booking is essential to attend our Saturday walks but you can attend Wednesday walks with our booking: https://inverclyderamblers.org.uk/programme/

We offer 3 trial walks to non-members and if you then wish to join there's full details on the Ramblers UK website: https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership

Eligibility Criteria

Guidance for walkers is available on our website. We start our walks on Wednesdays from Lunderston Bay car park – members get there by car or public transport. On Saturdays we (usually) meet at Brymner Street in Greenock if we intend to car share to the walks' location. Lifts by car to walks: There is no formal policy on sharing expenses, with each walk in the programme there is an amount stated. This is a suggested passenger contribution that should be made to the car driver. Whilst every effort will be made to arrange car sharing, it is not incumbent on the Walk Leader to arrange transport. Details of passenger contribution (where req) is set out in our Walks Programme which is updated every 6 months.
